SOLAR INSTALLATION PROCESS

STEP 1. UNDERSTANDING YOUR NEEDS

One of our professional Solar Consultants will come to meet you and all decision makers at home and evaluate the past 12 months of your utility usage, taking into consideration your reasons for going solar, and they will provide you with an estimate on a custom designed system to suit your family’s electricity needs.

STEP 2. FINANCING OR LEASING APPROVAL

Your professional Solar Consultant, in conjunction with our Financing team, will help you find the best program to suit your need. We will help you secure credit approval for Financing or Leasing and we will also help you secure the Federal Tax Credit if they are still available and you are qualified for the program. You may need to provide additional information to our staff and/or Finance company.

STEP 3. SITE INSPECTION

In this step, we will send one of our highly trained technicians to your home for an in-depth Site Inspection (SSA) of your property, roof, and service panel to design your custom Solar System. A shade analysis will be done to determine accurate production for your custom Solar System as well. Ground mounts, top roof mounts, main service panel upgrades, roofing, pool solar relocation/removal, and any other extras can cause a longer time frame in the design and installation process.

 STEP 4. ENGINEERED PLANS & PERMITTING

Our Engineer will design specific plans for the layout of your custom Solar System. It is our preference that these plans are approved by our clients before submitting to the city or county principality for all required building permits. During the permitting process, we will also notify your current utility company to enter you into their Net Metering Agreement (NEM) which will allow you to start earning energy credit from the Solar Power you produce. This starts the Interconnection process to the grid. If you are living in a community with Home Owner Association (HOA), then we will need HOA approval, this is the time to submit the application and plans for approval. Permitting can take up to 6-8 weeks in certain cities, counties, and regions depending on your location.

 STEP 5. INSTALLATION

Once all necessary documents have been signed, additional work such as roofing, tree trimming, ground mount installation, service upgrade work and the official building permit has been secured we will call to schedule installation. The installation of your custom designed Solar System is typically installed within 24 to 72 hours. This installation process consists of installing mounting brackets and railing to secure your Solar System in place, installing the proper wiring and conduit which will transfer your solar energy
to your inverter, installation of your solar panels and inverter and make all necessary wiring connections. The service Upgrades can extend the length of time an Installation takes due to the participation of your current Utility Company and their available scheduling.

 STEP 6. FINAL INSPECTIONS

We will schedule all required final inspections to be done by your principality and your current utility company. Final inspections by the city/county and utility companies are out of our control in regard to scheduling. It may take a few weeks to get all of this completed. Once the Inspections are approved we request the Interconnection with your current utility company. You may need to approve this process via e-mail.

 FINAL STEP. PERMISSION TO OPERATE (PTO)

Once the final inspection takes place with your current utility company you will receive the “Permission to Operate” letter which will enable you to turn your system on. This will be via e-mail and a letter.

Note: With LEASING PROGRAM, this timeline can vary significantly due to Federal Guidelines. It could take up to 6-8 months.
